Daily Dose: Gold, “No Parking”

Daily Dose is your daily source for the song you absolutely, positively need to hear every day. Curated by the Paste Music Team.

For the past few years, Riding Easy Records with some help from the fantastic music shop Permanent Records has been releasing a series of records called Brown Acid that dig deep into the worlds of heavy rock and proto-metal from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Along the way, they’ve unearthed some unheard gems that are the equal to the big ticket likes of Sabbath, The Stooges and Hawkwind.

The wonders refuse to cease for Permanent Records co-owner Lance Barresi, the gent who has spearheaded this series, as they are about to unleash the latest volume of the Brown Acid collection called, naturally, The Sixth Trip, to be released, naturally on April 20th. This new set features 10 tracks from around North America, including the spiraling visions of Youngstown, Ohio outfit Travis and the Thin Lizzy-esque grind of Flight. One of the best of the bunch is the track that Barresi and Riding Easy are sharing with us today: a blotter acid rock gem from a San Francisco group known simply as Gold. Tune in, drop out and get excited about what this latest trip has in store for you.
