Hinds Are “Riding Solo” on Their First New Single of 2019

The talented ladies of Hinds have shared their first new song of 2019, fitting it in just under the wire. “Riding Solo,” out now via Mom + Pop, is the Madrid indie-rock quartet’s second new track to surface since the release of their acclaimed 2018 sophomore album I Don’t Run, which itself followed the band’s 2016 breakout debut Leave Me Alone.

The “Riding Solo” video (dir. Keane Pearce Shaw) finds Carlotta Cosials, Ana Perrote, Amber Grimbergen and Ade Martin having an extremely stylish get-together in the middle of nowhere, posing, strutting, snuggling, dancing and joy-riding their way through the unforgiving wilderness while Cosials and Perrote trade vocals dripping with swagger and attitude. It all culminates in a fiery, cathartic climax as Hinds cut loose, their four voices becoming one. They may be “Riding Solo,” but they’re doing it together, loneliness and boredom be damned.

Say Hinds of their new single:

Feeling lonely is one of the most common human feelings, right? Well, being a musician doesn’t really help. Your whole life is constantly moving and the only thing that remains is yourself. And dealing with yourself, oh gosh, we all know how boring and angering that can be. “Riding Solo” is about this. About us. Perpetually on the move, being everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Surrounded by strangers most time of the day, being 9 hours time difference from our people and what we call home, living and dying por y para la música.

“More news from Hinds to come in 2020,” a press release teases, so stay tuned.
