Japandroids Announce New 7″ Single, Fall Tour Dates with Cloud Nothings

The year’s been kind to Japandroids.

The Vancouver-based duo dropped their first album in five years, the stellar Near to the Wild Heart of Life, back in January. They just wrapped up a three-and-a-half month world tour over the weekend. And now they’ve dropped a new 7” single and announced a whole new set of tour dates for the fall, with Cloud Nothings.

The 7”, which is now available on the band’s website, features the raucous album cut “North East South West” on the a-side while its b-side is home to a cover of Dead Moon’s delightfully sloppy “Fire in the Western World.” For now, the latter isn’t streaming on any platforms, but it will be on May 16.

As for the tour, the band’s beginning their fall North American run in Calgary on Oct. 13 before crisscrossing the U.S. and Canada for almost a month. You’ll find those dates below, along with “North East South West” and Paste Cloud audio from the band’s 2009 Daytrotter Session.
