Watch Jim Jones and the Righteous Mind’s Music Video “1000 Miles from the Sure”

Mere months after calling it quits with the Jim Jones Revue, Jones has formed a new band and released their first music video. Jim Jones and the Righteous Mind come from the ashes of the Revue, with former Revue member Gavin Jay on bass as well as new members Joe Glossop, Phil Martini and David Page. The Quietus reports that the Righteous Mind were in the studio only five days after the natural dissolution of the Revue, and the first product of those sessions has come to fruition with “1000 Miles from the Sure.”
The music video, which you can watch above, features trippy, kaleidoscopic imagery to accompany a similarly trippy, kaleidoscopic sound. “1000 Miles from the Sure” sees Jones making a unique departure from his more rock ‘n roll leanings with the Revue as he instead relies on dark, pulsating tones and almost Gothic aesthetic to mark the change in personnel around him.
