Kendrick Lamar Keeps it Classic, Freestyles in New Reebok Commercial

Kendrick Lamar knows how to make music that is groundbreaking yet classic, and in a recent commercial for Reebok Classic, he explains how it got to be that way. He casually spits a freestyle and poses for a photo shoot while, of course, wearing his self-designed Classic Leather Perfect Split sneakers.

Lamar associates Reeboks with the origin story of his lyrical greatness. “When you think about rhymes and style, you always want a classic feel,” he says. “So my first introduction to a classic shoe was the moment I stepped in school and I said to myself, “I want to put something down on paper.” I start writing. Everyone in the classroom was wearing Reebok Classics.”
