Kendrick Lamar Opens the VMAs With “DNA” and “HUMBLE”: Watch

Kendrick Lamar got the opening slot at tonight’s Video Music Awards, and he made the most of it with an incendiary medley comprising his Damn hits “DNA” and “HUMBLE.” The songs get a boost from the crazy pyrotechnic choreography, with dancers in fireproof suits climbing all over what looks like playground netting engulfed in flames (sort of a parallel to the heads-on-fire scene in Lamar’s video for “HUMBLE”).

Lamar ultimately went home with six awards for “HUMBLE.” You can check out the complete list of winners from Sunday night’s show here, as well as our rankings of all 48 nominated videos here.
