We’re thankful to Forecastle Festival for a lot of things. The lineup’s always pretty great from top to bottom. The waterfront views are hard to beat. And as you might imagine, the Bourbon Lodge has played host to plenty of good times. But the biggest thing Forecastle hooked us on was Louisville, and thanks to the impressive selection of after-parties, we came away from the weekend as taken with the local venues as we were the fest.
One of the coolest spots we visited was La La Land, the recording studio that Twin Limb’s Kevin Ratterman is also lucky enough to call his home. The studio has played host to bands like My Morning Jacket and Houndmouth, too, and walking around the expansive remodeled garage it wasn’t hard to see why someone would want to hole up and record there: everything from the decor to the gear was stunning.
