Leon Bridges Shows Off His Moves in “Bad Bad News” Video

With the release of Good Thing just over a month away, Leon Bridges has premiered a music video for his infectious recently released track “Bad Bad News.”

The jazzy dance track serves as the soundtrack to two parallel worlds in the Natalie Rae-directed visual. In one scenario, viewers see Bridges entering his element as he is surrounded a group of musicians playing his latest single. In the other story, a curvy woman in a red trench coat (played by model/writer Paloma Elsesser) is seen chasing after an unknown tall man on New York’s Lower East Side. One element connects these two people: dance.

Throughout the video, Bridges is seen doing a range of dances around the circle of musicians. Elsesser’s body movements and poses are greatly influenced by Bridges’ as she pursues the anonymous gentleman around the grittier side of the Big Apple. By the end of the visual, Bridges finishes his performance just as the woman finally catches up to a tall, blonde man. Everything seems fine until the song kicks back up before its finale, as an exhausted Elsesser does a strange and sensual dance on the man.

Good Thing is available for preorder here. With both “Bad Bad News” and “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand,” Bridges is poised to reach a new level of acclaim within the music world, one that was only teased with his breakout debut a few years ago.
