Leonard Cohen may not be able to appear in music videos anymore, but an animated version of him still can. In a new posthumous video for Cohen’s song “Leaving the Table” from 2016’s You Want It Darker, a paper cutout of Cohen soars through the sky and dances across Montreal, exploring the city before returning home.
The video debuted as a tribute to the late musician at the Polaris Music Prize ceremony last night, where Cohen’s aforementioned album was on the shortlist for the award. It was one of various ways the artist has been immortalized since his death last year, along with an art exhibit and a live tribute album.
