Those with Leonard Cohen nostalgia are in luck this week. It’s just been announced that the documentary Leonard Cohen: Bird on a Wire will get a theatrical release at the Film Forum in New York City from Jan. 18-31. The director, Tony Palmer, recorded vintage concert footage of Cohen’s early shows and promises exclusive backstage footage.
Though lost for more than 30 years, the film was discovered in rusty film canisters and immediately received rapturous applause. Bernadette McNulty from The Telegraph raved, “As moving as the man’s music. Simply one of the most beautiful and moving music documentaries I have ever seen.” Find ticket info here, and check out Paste Cloud audio from Cohen below.
