New Orleans roots-rock band The Revivalists have been performing together for over seven years, traveling the country and honing their sound on stages and in the studio. Their latest record, Men Amongst Mountains, was recorded straight to tape in Bogalusa, Louisiana’s Studio in the Country, and represents a focused sound for the group.
When the band rolled up to Forecastle Festival last month in Louisville, Kentucky, their set was a rowdy one that echoed over the grounds and made an impression long before we sauntered up to the stage on that sweltering day. Later, we caught up with some of the guys for a stripped-down performance on the river, one of several scenic spots on the Forecastle grounds.
