Lost Cousins Share “Trails,” New Single off Their Forthcoming Debut Album

Lost Cousins have shared “Trails,” the fourth single off their forthcoming debut album In Scenery, out Feb. 1, 2019.

The track melds the electronic and analog, mixing Radiohead-esque vocals with crashing synth chords and a disarmingly pretty chorus. The band say in a statement that the track is “about feeling lost in a familiar situation and environment. The lyrics reference a child following a trail they thought they knew perfectly, but as the song progresses, they learn that they’ve lost all sense of direction. This misadventure is a metaphor for making major life decisions and the effects of their outcomes.”

Lost Cousins have announced that the track will be available on an exclusive seven-inch for Record Store Day Canada, sharing the release with the unreleased b-side “Break of Dawn.”

Listen to “Trails” below and check out the band’s 2018 Paste Studio session further down. Lost Cousins will be touring through the remainder of the year—keep scrolling for those dates.
