Atlanta metal outfit Mastodon has released a video for the single “High Road” off of the new album Once More ‘Round the Sun, and it ventures into some new music video territory: LARPing.
LARPing, which stands for live action role playing, is a hobby where fantasy fans make armor and weapons and then just go at it in large battles. The new video focuses on a teen who spends his time taking care of his grandmother and getting trounced in LARP battles, typically by a pompous older player, complete with an e-hookah. However, after some tutoring and training by a curmudgeonly neighbor, our glasses- and armor-clad hero ventures down to the battlefield on his bike once more.
Once More ‘Round the Sun will is set for a June 24 release. Pre-orders are currently being accepted, and just in case you were wondering, yes, you can pay in Bitcoin.
