Nothing but respect for our president: Mitski has taken a quick breather from her sold-out North American tour to share the video for “Washing Machine Heart,” off her beloved LP Be the Cowboy, released in August on Dead Oceans.

The black-and-white “Washing Machine Heart” video, which debuted last week via Tidal, reunites Mitski with two frequent collaborators: director Zia Anger (“Your Best American Girl,” “Geyser”) and cinematographer Mia Cioffi Henry (“Geyser”). Mitski is a characteristically expressive presence in the noir-like video, her emotionally charged movements (choreographed by Monica Mirabel) giving life to the song’s unabashed desire.

Be the Cowboy is one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2018, so it’s no surprise the breakout singer-songwriter has sold out her current tour in its entirety. Mitski’s run continues in Austin, Texas, tomorrow night (Nov. 10), taking her to Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, D.C. and Philadelphia before culminating in a four-night stand at Brooklyn Steel, where she’ll have support from Downtown Boys and SASAMI.

Watch the “Washing Machine Heart” video and hear Mitski’s 2015 Daytrotter Session below. You’ll find her tour dates further down.
