Live Photos: Molly Burch’s Album Release Party in Brooklyn

Molly Burch’s debut LP, Please Be Mine, is the portrait of an old soul. The Los Angeles native studied jazz vocal performance at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and harbors a sweet tooth for ‘50s country pioneer Patsy Cline. That rich background marinates the album with a potent sense of history spanning girl group pop, folk and Sun Records-era twang. Burch celebrated the February release earlier this month in Brooklyn at the Williamsburg staple, Union Pool. Crooning against a backdrop of crimson velvet and flickering candles, the artist looked like she’d just stepped out of a David Lynch film. Photographer Drew Reynolds captured portraits, sound check and the live show of the emerging artist. Molly Burch is currently on tour supporting Tim Darcy throughout March.
