Natalie Prass Shares New Live Studio Session Video of The Future And The Past Track “Lost”

Crying and dancing both feel like appropriate bodily responses to Natalie Prass’ excellent new album The Future And The Past, released in June via ATO Records. The follow-up to her 2015 self-titled freshman effort, The Future And The Past is Prass’ protest album, a lyrically direct and musically broad response to the increasingly bleak political landscape. But it’s also an album of celebratory movement, freckled with human emotions. One such emotional instance is “Lost,” a bear-all ballad that speaks directly to a toxic relationship. Prass has shared a new live video of the track, which she recorded with an orchestra and back-up singers at Montrose Recording in Richmond, Va. Watch her croon “Lost” in-studio from behind the piano, below.

In the video, an orchestra of violins, cellos, percussion and bass support Prass in this bang-up version of “Lost.” Prass also has a number of upcoming tour dates, which you can find here. The summer/fall leg of her tour kicks off July 7 at Celebrate Brooklyn festival in New York.

Again, you can watch the live recording of “Lost” below. If you’re in need of some cheerful solidarity today, relish Prass’ delightful animated video for The Future And The Past track “Sisters” and watch an equally entertaining visual for fellow single “Short Court Style” right here.
