Sometimes bad stuff happens but you just have to fight through it and keep dancing. At least that’s the premise for Neon Indian’s whacked-out music video for “Techno Clique,” in which a man chokes on a chicken wing in the middle of a dance floor and even the paramedics attempting to save his life seem too busy caught up in the boogie.

Frontman Alan Palomo stares icily at the asphyxiating man who was dancing with a pretty blonde woman Palomo had his eyes on. The choking doesn’t appear to be caused by a freak accident but a Scanners-like telepathic ability Palomo possesses to cut down on competition. And that’s just the tip of this visual freak-out.
