San Francisco dream-pop outfit No Vacation have shared a new single, “Estrangers,” taken from their forthcoming EP Phasing, out on Oct. 18 via Topshelf Records. The young band started gaining traction in 2015 with the release of two mixtapes, Amo XO and Summer Break, and their 2017 song “Yam Yam” brought them a bunch of new fans (it now has over 25 million Spotify streams).

On “Estrangers,” Sab Mai’s vocals are a delicate overcast, numbing the senses and hovering over quaint guitars and keyboard shimmers. “Estrangers” first began at a house party in late 2016, but was finished earlier this year with the addition of strings. The cello backing gives it a sophisticated mystique and deepens the song’s lugubrious yearning.
