Outside Lands to Allow Legal Marijuana on Festival Grounds

Outside Lands, the massive music festival in San Francisco, just wants you to chill out, man. Catch some vibes on the main stage. Live mas, have a Baja Blast with some Taco Bell. Smoke some (totally legal and not at all shady) weed. Experience the music the way it was meant to be.

The festival announced on Thursday morning that they’ve partnered with Eaze to bring Grass Lands to Golden Gate Park for the festival, permitting the sale and consumption of marijuana for patrons over 21 in a specific section of the festival grounds, and becoming the first major U.S. music fest to do so. Outside Lands co-producer Rick Farman previously said of the initiative that “Grass Lands will shine a light on the area’s importance as pioneers in the cannabis world.”

A press release describes all the activities you’ll partake in while in Grass Lands; you can learn more about how marijuana helps you “rise,” “refresh” and “rest” (translation: wake and bake) with educational materials. Or you can try exquisite edibles from The Confectionary to indulge your sweet tooth and totally not pass out face-down in the middle of the field. Maybe you’re looking for a more spiritual experience; if so, you can open your third eye by going on a “mind-bending journey through an immersive augmented reality experience at ‘High-tened Reality’ by Absolutextracts.”

More like Far Out-Side Lands, right? The festival goes down this weekend, Aug. 9-12. You can see the lineup here and find out more about Grass Lands here.
