Red Hot Chili Peppers Mellow Their Funk on New Track “We Turn Red”

Despite frontman Anthony Kiedis’ recent health scare, his band’s canceled shows and their hilariously awful campaign song for Bernie Sanders, funk/punk legends Red Hot Chili Peppers soldier on as the release of their forthcoming album The Getaway draws near.

We’ve already covered the first two songs off the new record, including its first single and its title track, and now we give you “We Turn Red,” one of the surprisingly mellower Chili Peppers songs. A lush, pensive chorus ties the sharp funk verses together, letting both sides of their sound shine with equal gusto.
