Music News Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The nominees for the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony were unveiled this morning.

The list includes many first-time nominees, including Tupac Shakur, Pearl Jam, Jane’s Addiction, Journey, Electric Light Orchestra, Depeche Mode, Joan Baez, Bad Brains and Steppenwolf.

Artists become eligible 25 years after their first single or album has been released, making this Tupac and Pearl Jam’s first year of eligibility.

Of course, there are nominees that have been around the Hall of Fame block before, such as Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson, The Zombies and more.

The nominating process is open to public, who can cast their votes until Dec. 5. The inductees will be announced later that month, with the ceremony taking place in April.
