What’s you’re favorite current fashion trend and why?
This summer, I’ve really liked a lot of the neon colors. There seems to be a lot of mixed colors going on, and I’ve always liked that. I think with this season in particular, as far as trends go, I’m really into the neon colors going on.

What fashion trends inspire you the most?
I’ve always liked the distressed look. I like the holey jeans with boots and t-shirts. I just like simple things that you can really dress up or dress down with accessories.

What other artists do you draw inspirations from and why?
A number of different people. I listen to everything from Top 40 Review to any obscure indie band that other people might know. I’ve always been a fan of Radiohead, and Bjork is one of the biggest inspirations of why I started playing music. I really respect her as an artist. She’s paved the way in a lot of ways; she’s revolutionized music for our generation. I really admire her.

How does your own music affect your fashion?
I’ve never thought of the two as being hand-in-hand. I’ve always just…been. I am what I am. I like simple things, and maybe that kind of plays into my music. I admire music that has a subtle and slow impact. Maybe the two go hand-in-hand; I’m not really sure. I just like what I like.

Any styles or trends that you’d really like to see make a comeback this summer?
Maybe we could bring back the Rebook Pumps. My dad had a pair and I was always coveting them. They were so sweet. How did they actually pump? Do they pump you in height?

I always thought it was a comfort thing. I never had a pair, so I could never figure it out.
All I remember is that the pump was down by the shoelaces and it was a basketball, and you just pressed it. I don’t know what that was about, but I hope it comes back.

Who do you think has the best fashion sense? Or, better question, whose closet would you love to raid?
Beyonce. I love her. She has one of the most amazing voices that I’ve ever heard. I can just wholeheartedly respect someone who sings like that and drops it in heels. I just don’t know how she does it. She just embodies this power, and that plays into wardrobe as well. She’s a powerful woman. I love the way she dresses. I would never dress like that though—I just couldn’t. But I admire her because of it.

So on a similar note, if you could go shopping with anybody, who would it be?
Bjork. I feel like if we went shopping together, we probably just wouldn’t speak. I definitely wouldn’t. I’d be afraid that anything that would come out of my mouth would just be dumb. Maybe we could just go on a silent shopping trip together.

What is your greatest fashion find?
Recently I found this Serge Gainsbourg that I’ve just worn the hell out of lately. I found it online, and I pretty much wear it multiple times a week. I’ve just been wearing the hell out of it. I love it. It’s my favorite t-shirt.
