Dynamic soul woman Sharon Jones passed away last month at the age of 60, and today, details have been announced for public memorial services in each of the beloved singer’s hometowns: Brooklyn, N.Y. and Augusta, Ga. The memorials will take place on Dec. 14 and 17, respectively.
“Jones’ family, friends and fans are invited to come together to celebrate the singer’s life and endless spirit,” reads a press release, which also notes that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jones’ honor to The Lustgarten Foundation, the James Brown Family Foundation and Little Kids Rock.
