Soccer Mommy Shares “Scorpio Rising” Music Video, New Tour Dates

Soccer Mommy (aka Nashville’s Sophie Allison) made her debut in March with Clean, a fully realized album of grunge-laced bedroom melodies, despite the singer-songwriter’s mere 20 years. Since the album’s release, she’s been on the tour almost nonstop, performing alongside Liz Phair, Speedy Ortiz and Paramore, but somehow still found the time to film a new music video for Clean cut “Scorpio Rising.”

After the bubbly ‘90s appeal of her music video for “Cool,” Allison’s most recent visual is distinctly (and literally) darker—for most of the video, Allison is lit only by solitary television screens. She appears ghostly even as she tries to look unaffected, singing, “You want warmth and I’m something colder / I’m putting your hands to her heart.”

Allison announced the new music video in tandem with additional solo concert dates, as well as a new support tour with Kacey Musgraves.
