Spotify’s Release Radar Updates You With New Music From Your Favorite Artists

Spotify is arguably the best music streaming app out there, except when it comes to Tidal or Apple Music exclusives. In addition to helping people discover music through playlists and Discover Weekly, which compiles a list of song suggestions each Monday, Spotify is now launching Release Radar, which updates you on new releases from artists every Friday.

The new feature rolls out today with a two-hour playlist seen on Spotify’s discover page, according to a blog post. Artists that you follow and listen to will be featured, in addition to new artists Spotify think you might enjoy. It’s available on mobile and desktop.

“With the huge amount of new music released every week, it can be difficult to keep up with the latest tracks,” said Matt Ogle, Senior Product Owner at Spotify. “With Release Radar, we wanted to create the simplest way for you to find all the newly released music that matters the most to you, in one playlist.”

Like Spotify’s Discover Weekly, the Release Radar playlist improves in accuracy as you continue to use it. Release Radar is meant to be a more personalized version of it’s human-curated playlist, New Music Friday.
