The Avalanches made their highly anticipated return to music in July with the acclaimed release of Wildflower, the Aussies’ first album since their 2000 debut, Since I Left You. The electro group released a starkly animated video for their third single from the album, “Subways,” in June, but are back again with a vastly different take.
French illustrators Mrzyk & Moriceau teamed up with the band to create a funky, vibrant narrative of a character taking a ride through New York’s underground train system. The new video complements The Avalanches’ portrayal of the disco era on “Subways,” which samples The Bee Gees’ song “Warm Ride.” Enjoy the animated visual above.
