San Diego's The Donkeys are known for their sunny surf-rock vibes, but the band's newest single builds off a riff evocative of _Rubber Factory_-era Black Keys blues rock. Lyrically, too, "Down The Line" pays homage to blues masters' odes of lost loves. But in perfectly positive Donkeys style, the band masks sentiment behind catchy, cheery "do, do, doo's."
"Down The Line" is the first single off The Donkeys' fifth studio effort. Although dubbed a "mini-album," _Midnight Palms_ is at once brief and wholly contained in its five tracks. _Midnight Palms_ is out February 12 and you can listen to "Down The Line" here.
