The Hold Steady to Release Deluxe Editions of Almost Killed Me and Separation Sunday

The Hold Steady and Frenchkiss Records have announced the highly anticipated release of deluxe editions of the band’s celebrated first two LPs, Almost Killed Me and Separation Sunday. Both albums have been remastered from their original tapes, and will be available on CD and vinyl on Nov. 11, with pre-orders open as of yesterday, Sept. 13.

Almost Killed Me: Deluxe Edition features five exclusive tracks, including The Hold Steady’s first 7” single, “Milkcrate Mosh,” as well as songs originally only available on the album’s Australian release. Separation Sunday: Deluxe Edition comes joined with six additional tracks, including previously unreleased songs “212-Margarita” and “The Most Important Thing.”

In addition to the deluxe editions’ release, the New York-based rock band is performing a handful of shows, their only official headlining gigs of 2016, in honor of the 10th anniversary of their third album Boys And Girls In America. The Hold Steady kicked off the special series with Denver’s Riot Fest over Labor Day weekend, and will next perform the album in its entirety at Chicago’s Riot Fest on Sept. 17, followed by an appearance at Toronto Urban Roots Fest on Sept. 18. They’ll finish off their run by returning home for four sold-out shows at Brooklyn Bowl, set for Nov. 30 through Dec. 3.

The reissue LPs mark the first time either album has been available on vinyl in more than a decade. Almost Killed Me will come on bright-blue vinyl, with Separation Sunday pressed on white vinyl.
