The fifth annual Amplify Decatur Music Festival festival is set for April 25, 2020, and hometown heroes Indigo Girls have been announced as the year’s headliners. The folk duo met as elementary students and began performing as high schoolers in Decatur.
Amplify Decatur is a branch of the larger music-based charity Amplify My Community, which puts on benefit concerts around Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee to raise funds for local nonprofits. All proceeds from the 2020 festival will go to Decatur Cooperative Ministry, an organization working to alleviate homelessness in the area.
The 2020 festival at the Decatur Square will also feature Son Volt, The Cactus Blossoms and Michelle Malone. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Dec. 18, with $55 general admission, $155 seated VIP tickets and $275 seated Premium VIP tickets. In the meantime, you can revisit Indigo Girls’ performance at the Paste’s Decatur office in 2014 below.
