Watch Thom Yorke Perform “High and Dry” in a Late ’80s, Pre-Radiohead Band

This is pretty cool—Thom Yorke, before Radiohead, showing a glimpse of his brilliance in previously uncirculated footage from an earlier band. It takes place in the late ‘80s, and the song, of course, is “High and Dry,” later released as the third track on The Bends, Radiohead’s second studio album. The band’s name is “Headless Chickens,” which feels very Yorke-ian in that it seems to accurately describes how he feels about humanity in the digital age. The video, which you can watch above, was shot at the Lemon Grove at the University of Exeter in England.
