Ought frontman Tim Darcy has spent that past few months trickling samples of his debut solo album, Saturday Night, released last Friday on the Jagjaguwar label. “Tall Glass of Water” takes a more direct, jangly route than the musician’s more heady material, while “Still Waking Up” recalls the romantic blues rock of Sun Records during the ‘50s. To celebrate the album, Darcy and his backing band hit Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn for the release party last week. The songwriter performed old tracks, songs from the album and even ones that were only a few days old. Photographer Taylor Swaim captured the party in the gallery above. Tim Darcy is on tour throughout Canada and the U.S. through March before heading to Europe.
