The Decemberists Announce Travelers’ Rest Festival Lineup: Death Cab For Cutie, Jeff Tweedy, Mavis Staples, More

Travelers’ Rest Festival, taking place in Missoula, Mont. on Aug. 4-5, has unveiled its 2018 lineup.

The festival will be headlined by Portland indie rockers The Decemberists, who curated the festival for the second year running and will perform on both days. The band is due to release their eighth album, I’ll Be Your Girl, on March 16 via Capitol Records.

The Decemberists’ Colin Meloy, who grew up in Montana and attended the University of Montana in Missoula, says that the original motivation behind the festival’s location was that “many national touring bands skipped Montana altogether.”

Also performing at the festival will be Death Cab For Cutie, Jeff Tweedy, Mavis Staples, Tune-Yards, Whitney, Parquet Courts, Waxahatchee and Lucy Dacus, with more acts to be announced soon.

The first year of Travelers’ Rest featured the likes of Belle & Sebastian, Real Estate, Sylvan Esso, Charles Bradley, Julien Baker, and The Head and the Heart.
