This new Metronomy music video for “Night Owl” must come straight from the mind of Hunter S. Thompson.
Set in the dessert, the video is nothing short of a reincarnation of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas with its playful mind tricks and the psychedelic road trip inspiration.The video is complete with a Grim Reaper driving a Rolls Royce, a brain slithering in the background, and multiple attempted murders that only result in mutilated dummies.
The surreal video is set to the lilting “Night Owl,” off the English band’s fifth record, Summer 08. The spacey tune driven by a pulsing bass undoubtedly fits the oddity of the video. Watch it above.
