Yellow Days Shares Funky New Song “Just When”

Mulleted Brit songwriter Yellow Days (aka George van den Broek) returned with a new track that showcases the musician’s genre influences on Friday morning.

“Just When” sounds like Yellow Days found an old Stevie Wonder cassette melting in the park and tried to remaster it. The track is built around tightly syncopated drums and a positively funky bass line, which the musician swelters with plunking keys and heavily saturated guitars. Throughout the track, Yellow Days’ vocals shine; he sings of digging himself out of anxious spirals with the help of a lover, easily delivering soulful crooning under just the right amount of reverb.

There’s no official word on whether Yellow Days has a full-length album coming out any time soon, though “Just When” follows several singles released last year. Check out “Just When” below and find Yellow Days’ tour dates further down.
