About the Book

How do you deal with hardships and evil? What do you do when you suffer? How do you come to terms with a disability? How do you improve your life and perspective and gain peace from a biblical standpoint? In this inspiring and motivating book, An Encouragement Journey, you learn brief but profound, challenging, and enjoyable biblical insights. It is worth reading on a regular basis. Men, women, and families will benefit from these scriptural insights.

An Encouragement Journey is a series of four short devotional books that partner with you in your walk with God. These books feature beautiful photography coupled with the timeless wisdom from those who have gone before us. Sharing anecdotes from his life and lessons learned from his crippling disability, author William A. Carlson takes you on an encouragement journey. It is easy to see the darkness all around us, easy to get depressed and discouraged, yet as Christians we are to be the light of the world. You are like a city on a hill that everyone can see clearly, a child of the day.

Sometimes the topics are lighthearted and easy to read, some much more serious and complex. I am sure they reflect many of the experiences that you have every day.

About the Author

William A. Carlson graduated with a B.A. degree in Political Science from California State University at Long Beach. He was raised in California. His long and satisfying career was spent in state and local government in California. William has been married to Cherie since 1975, has four gifted and accomplished children, and nine delightful grandchildren. Since his disability in 2000 he has retired and spent a great deal of time studying scripture and writing for the encouragement and strengthening of other Christians. His hope is that you will benefit as one brother to another. His disability has placed him into a wheelchair and led to a crisis of faith. He was prayed for many times but has not yet been healed by God. He came to a recognition of the sovereignty of God over every aspect of life. An Encouragement Journey was written after his recognition of God’s Lordship over any sickness or disability.
