About the Book

A Fae Warrior

For 2500 years, Tori has been a soldier in practically every battle ever fought. She's conquered kingdoms, destroyed armies, and even gone head to head with the gods. Now the stuff of legends, Tori is a highly sought after mercenary.

A Broken Kingdom

Tori is also an illegitimate heir to a missing crown. As a halfling, she's unable to inherit a kingdom divided and eternally on the brink of war. But things are not always as they seem, and fate is keeping an eye on Tori and her triplet sisters...

A Karmic Storm

After a thousand years of dissent and unrest, the Fae have triggered a Reckoning. Wrongs must be righted, mistakes must be corrected, and the past must be confronted at every turn. When Tori is hired to transport a sleeping human across the mortal realm, the Reckoning brings her face to face with her past in the form of her new partner, Ryn.

A Deadly Distraction

Ryn is not only her soul mate, he's the man she drugged, duped and ditched over 200 years ago... and has been running from ever since. Unfortunately, he's just as irresistible as ever. When her easy mission becomes a nightmare, Tori has to rely on her instincts and experience to survive. The one thing she needs is focus, and Ryn is nothing but distraction...

About the Author

Let me start off by saying I absolutely hate bios. I don't know why... maybe it's because I'm uncomfortable talking about myself, maybe it's because I don't know what to say... whatever it is, it gets in the way, because if you're an author, you need a bio.

I'm in my mid forties. I know, I know... I don't look it. Thank you for saying so... you're my new best friend. I've been writing practically my whole life, though I kept to poetry and prose for most of it. Three of my poems have been published in anthologies, I won editor's choice for one of them, and was a member of the International Poet's Society for many years. I always thought that I'd never be able to write a novel because I wasn't detail oriented. I was wrong, though I still struggle with the details. You learn a lot when you write a book, and I've learned that you don't always have to describe every single thing... sometimes it's better to leave things up to the reader's imagination.

This idea behind the Blood Crown series started from a drunken conversation with two of my sisters on New Year's Eve, 2012. We were discussing Fifty Shades, and I made an off-hand comment that I could totally do that. That one little statement led to an elaborate conversation about what I would write if I were to actually write. The main characters are based loosely on my sisters, myself, and my daughter. The idea for the story just sort of birthed itself... starting with the concept of a real life Sleeping Beauty, and ending with a full-on rescue of an entire kingdom.

These characters are very much alive in my head. They talk among themselves, essentially driving me crazy when I'm not writing. But beyond this crazy cast of characters, I have several stories bouncing around my brain. Once this series is complete (I predict 5 books and a novella), I intend to jump into the deep waters of horror. I guess we'll see what happens when it happens.

A little background on me... I was born on an Air Force base in Michigan, spent my very early years in Arkansas, most of my youth in Colorado, moved back to Arkansas for several years, back to Colorado, and then to North Carolina, where I am today. I love steak, chocolate, tequila, and laughter. My heroes are Space Ghost, John Crichton, Archer, and a host of other people that don't actually exist. I am a total fangirl over Neil Gaiman and Stephen King. I'm a complete nerd, and I like it that way!
