About the Book

The most wonderful time of the year can also be one of the busiest. Without intentionality, the season of Advent can pass in a blur. For Advent 2016, Caleb Gave Mathis created a devotional guide to help himself find the perspective he'd lost in the mess of credit card bills, shopping lists, and torn wrapping paper. Examining the larger story of scripture, particularly prophecies of the coming Messiah sprinkled throughout the Old Testament, this guide seeks to help readers reestablish their place in the story that God is writing - a story which finds its apex in a stable behind a crowded Bethlehem inn.

About the Author

Caleb Gave Mathis discovered his passion for words and writing while a student at the University of Kentucky. After spending two years teaching high school biology, he jumped headfirst into the world of youth ministry. In late 2017, he took a role as a content producer for a church in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He is rather fond of books (especially old ones), North Lime Coffee and Donuts, traveling, dark roast coffee, being outdoors, Wes Anderson movies, gardening, British television, and spending time with his wife and three kids.
