About the Book

Inspired by the award winning song How Could I Ask For More, Cindy takes you on a journey in search of the answer..."why is enough never enough? How much more is more than enough?” Her evocative writing about the people, places, and experiences that made her who she is will pierce your heart and challenge you to see the good things in your life as well as those things that threaten to keep you from the good things. Always honest, often funny, sometimes heartbreaking, Cindy Morgan transparently reflects on battles fought, blessings gleaned, and the beauty of a grace-filled life.

About the Author

A native Tennessean, Cindy Morgan began her journey in a musical family. Her mother, a songwriter and gospel singer who played the piano, and her dad, a Volkswagen mechanic by day and songwriter/guitarist by night, provided Cindy with rich soil to grow in as a musician – especially as a songwriter. Signing her first record deal with Word Records after high school, the prolific songstress gained instant success with a string of best-selling singer-songwriter pop records, garnering twenty-one number one singles, Dove and Grammy nods, and tours alongside some of the biggest names in gospel music. But it wasn’t arena platforms that motivated Cindy’s musical ambitions. Personally connecting to listeners through honest songwriting is the heart of her musical attention.

Having had a wide array of songs cut by a diverse roster of artists – including India Arie, Mandisa, David Archuletta, Natalie Grant, Rachael Lampa, Sandi Patty and Michael W. Smith – it is Cindy’s own legendary artist discography – featuring songs like “How Could I Ask For More,” “I Will Be Free,” “Praise the King” and “Listen,” a number one single written with her late father Cova Morgan – that endears her to audiences nationwide ”I have loved hearing other people sing songs like ‘Praise the King’ back to me in concert,” Morgan expresses. “Written years ago on Easter morning, it was such a gift from God. I always played new songs to my dad over the phone to get his thoughts. ‘Praise the King’ was the last song I played for my dad over the phone before he died.” And as she looks back, the young industry legend says she is still excited to simply sing and write.”I am so glad to be a part of the music community. To write songs that encourage someone else with the supernatural power of words and notes.”One of Christian music’s most influential singer/songwriters, Cindy Morgan has garnered 12 GMA Dove Awards, including the prestigious Songwriter of the Year trophy. With 21 #1 hits to her credit, Morgan has penned songs for such artists as India Arie, Point of Grace, Mandisa and Francesca Battistelli, among many others. Part of the lauded indie/pop duo St. Lola in the Fields, with longtime writing partner Jeremy Bose, the collaborators’ songs have been featured on such programs as “One Tree Hill,” “Drop Dead Diva,” and “Pretty Little Liars,” as well as being heard in hundreds of stores (Gap, Banana Republic) throughout the US. Morgan’s 2011 critically-acclaimed Hymns & Spirituals: Some Glad Morning, features Americana/folk-inspired arrangements of such beloved selections as “I’ll Fly Away”, “It Is Well” and “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.”
