About the Book

The brutality inflicted on

his fiancée was the last

straw. Dusty had expected most of the problems of

winter drilling in Northern Canada, but he did not

anticipate being suspected as Elena’s attacker.

Against his better judgment, he had contracted

the geological supervision of the Amyot Project.

From the start, the operation was plagued with the

efforts of hostile villagers and environmentalists,

rig accidents, an assistant with a hidden agenda,

and an attempt on his life.

As the Project descended into financial uncertainty,

Dusty realized that in order to clear his name, it

was up to him to identify the culprit. His relentless

search almost cost him his life

About the Author

My name is Guy Allen. I have operated most of my life as a freelance explorationist in the mineral and oil and gas industries of North America, as well as bouts of teaching at the high school and junior college levels.

My formal education consists of an Honours BSc from the University of Western Ontario, as well as graduate geology and education courses from the University of Calgary. I have been qualified as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia, and as a Professional Geologist for Alberta. I hold high school teaching certificates for British Columbia, Alberta and Washington state. I have both Canadian and U.S. citizenship and with my wife, Geri, I spend time equally in these two countries.

My mineral exploration activities have taken me to British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Yukon and Nortwest Territories, and the counties of Devon and Cornwall in England. In the oil and gas industry, I have worked as a prospect and wellsite geologist in Alberta and Sakatchewan. I have also been employed as a company and stock analyst, a high school science teacher, and a junior college mathematics instructor.

As a freelance writer: I research and create resource-related studies. Controversies concerned with coal, global warming, mineral exploration and development, and government policies are my main interests. I try to balance attitudes from the right and left. My non-fiction writing is an attempt to find the truth in these areas. I have written three full-length novels. The first two, 'Amyot' and 'Bush Camp' are available as eBooks. My third "Talisman' is available in paperback and eBook. My novels are guided by my experiences and whatever expertise I possess in the resource industries. First and foremost they are adventure stories
