About the Book

In this dark satire, a young man who escapes his hopelessly hayseed home town in Missouri is mistakenly labeled a terrorist and must survive a manhunt by government security agencies, while the President of an America in chaos and collapse perpetrates an end-of-the-world hoax, attempting to reclaim control and get himself re-elected.

About the Author

John Rachel has a B. A. in Philosophy, has traveled extensively, is a songwriter and music producer, and a bipolar humanist. He is author of eight novels, three non-fiction political books, and one creative non-fiction fantasy/travel/cookbook. Currently in development is a new novel set in Japan, another in Africa, and an American satire on the self-help crazes of the 80s and 90s.

Author Rachel has visited and lived in over thirty-three countries since leaving America August of 2006. He recently returned from two months in the Philippines, Myanmar, and Singapore. He is now somewhat rooted in a small traditional farming village in Japan near Osaka, where he proudly tends his small but promising vegetable garden and sets his non-existent watch by the thrice-daily ringing of Shinto temple bells at a local shrine.
