About the Book

Living as sons of God is our greatest inheritance. It is our birthright in Christ and is the truest thing about us. In my experience, this is the most important concept we will ever grasp as a Christ follower.

The problem with fully embracing and living out of sonship is threefold. First, you and I relate to our Heavenly Father much like we relate to our earthly father. Second, most of us live like spiritual orphans. And finally, many of us are oblivious to the fact we have an enemy and we live in a world at war. This external force does everything within its power to undermine our sonship.

This devotion looks at these three aspects of sonship and provides thought provoking discussion questions along with additional references and resources to further explore the topic of sonship.

About the Author

Matthew Hexter grew up on the shores of Lake Erie in Bay Village where his claim to fame was making the High School marching band snare line as a ninth grader. He is a man of diverse interests: successful entrepreneur and business owner, accomplished musician and songwriter, author and screenwriter, teacher and trainer, operations and productivity guru, online marketing pro and web application designer.

He attended The Ohio State University, graduated with a Bachelors in Education, and met and married the most wonderful woman in the world, a dear gift from heaven who God continues to use to make him a better man, husband, father and friend.

Since college, Matthew has come to accept his creative and eccentric self who thrives on a diverse and eclectic blend of interests, passions, desires, skills, and experiences. He has launched numerous companies, projects and causes and has worked for the likes of Rolls-Royce and Hewlett Packard. He co-founded an award-winning information security company, co-founded a men's ministry, and served for seven years as an adjunct professor for a leadership training course sponsored by his Alma Mater.

He is passionate about good coffee, good beer (he loves to homebrew) and his family. He currently coaches basketball and ice hockey, loves to ski with his children, and is rebuilding his vinyl record collection from the 70's and 80's. His perfect night is stoking a fire, enjoying a glass of red wine, and listening to December by George Winston or anything James Taylor (all on vinyl, of course).

Matthew and his wife Melanie have been married for 25 years, have six children, and currently reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
