Born 16th of February 1954 at Okigwe in Eastern Nigeria. He had his primary education at Presbyterian primary school Abakaliki and finished at St. Peter's primary school Enugu. He went on to Government College Umuahia for his secondary education. At the outbreak of the Nigerian civil war in 1967, he enlisted on the secessionist side and fought in the Mortar Command of 73 Infantry Brigade. At the end of the civil war, he studied architecture at the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus and graduated in 1979. He is the author of Go Tell Biafra, his Nigerian civil war memoirs, Shades of Passion, a collection of poems. Diana Valedictory, a collection of poems for Diana the princess of wales and Selected African Proverbs from the Igbo people of Eastern Nigeria. He has been in architectural practice since 1987.
