"I guess their fake IDs didn't fool the bouncers," 18-year-old singer-songwriter Andrew St. James says about why his friends were removed from lower NYC's Rockwood Music Hall on the evening captured for his new "Live In NYC" release.

Comprised of nine songs, the record follows-up the San Francisco-based musician's 2013 Dylan-esque debut album "Doldrums," recorded when he was just 17-years-old and produced by Jim Greer (a platinum record recipient for his work with Foster The People.)

Greer says, "'Live In NYC' has the feel of a long-buried bootleg, a timeless sounding performance that might just one day prove to be a treasured document of an artist with a powerful voice."

Accompanied only by his guitar, St. James brings the same intensity and passion to the stage that is heard on "Doldrums," which has already earned him the attention of Interview Magazine, Nylon, American Songwriter, MTV and USA Today which plainly remarked “This kid is headed for big things.”

Of "Judge Boushay Blues," the one "Live In NYC" track that doesn't appear on "Doldrums," St. James explains, "I heard Furry Lewis's version a lot when I was growing up. My father was a big fan of Delta blues and that rubbed off on me."

He continues, "I started playing it live as kind of a shout-out to a guy I knew who was sentenced to 25-years-to-life for stealing a celebrity chef’s Lamborghini among other things. I hope he's doing alright in there -- the kid's only 18."

“Live In NYC,” recorded November 23rd, 2013 at Rockwood Music Hall, will be released as a free download via Noisetrade on April 24th, 2014. Andrew St. James is busy writing and recording the studio follow-up to his debut album “Doldrums” now.
