The Dreamland Chronicles, Part VII/XI:
The Silent Boy travels across the surface of Sol, remembering all the horrible ways his father had treated him growing up and into early adulthood, as well as the abuse his mother and sister suffered. Under the hour of the eclipse, he confronts the truth of his father being the source of those dark demons and his own depression. He pushes them away, letting go, and sees the real sun for the first time, now a cracked earth wasteland. Then he finds a city on the horizon, uploaded into it.
