Hide the Light was originally written as a themed album that would come packaged with a comic book style story. The comic was never completed, but the synopsis is written below. Perhaps one day, we will be able to bring this album back to life in the way it was intended. Enjoy!
Journey into a dystopian future where man is harvested by an alien race. Hide the Light takes the listener on a musical journey through a post-apocalyptic Earth where the lost souls of humanity are controlled using a drug known as "red meth," a substance manufactured and distributed by the mysterious collective known only as "Cynder." Formerly known as bodies that once governed the United States such as NASA, the CDC and the U.S. Army; Cynder is the sole force that now controls the Earth from their mechanical base called the "Omega Axis," a structure that was built around a giant astroid named "Seed" that crashed into the Earth over a decade ago. Once the U.S. government quarantined the area around the astroid, strange things started happening to those behind the barricade walls and the Omega Axis began to take shape, eventually encompassing the entire Earth. The radiation from Seed began to twist human, plant and animal alike, turning the planet into a place that looked more alien that the world we know today.
Eventually, Cynder showed themselves as the rulers of Earth; a faceless and mysterious group of men or demons, no one really knows their true form. They control the desperate inhabitants of the planet below using the red meth, which turns its victims into blood thirsty killers that will do anything for another taste of Cynder's seductive medicine.
The only thing that stands in the way of Cynder's total domination is a young cyborg named Vyrus, the leader of a small rebellion of freedom fighters called the "Redrum." Hide the Light is his story through this bleak world and his encounters with loss, death, and redemption.
