My name is taken from the Greek for 1 Corinthians 1:28: "He has chosen the base things of this world, the despised ones and those who are not, to bring to nothing the things that are." Exouthenemena is the word that translates as "despised ones." It literally means "those have been stomped out." Exouthenemenos would be the singular. When I was at the lowest point in my life in the fall of 2003, I discovered this verse and decided to own my brokenness as the source of my chosenness. Because I was utterly stomped out, I know that I am nothing apart from God; my weakness is the basis for His power to work through me. I used to have a rock band called the Junior Varsity Superheroes in which I played four different synths and sang lead vocals. When I became a father and my bandmates moved away in the summer of 2006, I started making electronic music on my computer. I make trance and hip-hop with Christian spoken and sung lyrics. I make my debut public performance as Exouthenemenos at the Wild Goose Festival at 5:30 pm on August 9th, 2013. My real name is Morgan Guyton. I'm also a blogger at http://morganguyton.wordpress.com
