“Soothsayer” was not a song we ever intended to release as a single, let alone our first single for the new album that we’ll be releasing in the spring. But we felt that between the climate in which this song was written, in the hours before dawn during the height of the George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests in June, and the impending election, this was something that we needed to say now.
This song is a political shout to expose injustice, wrench it from the dark places it tries to hide, and drag it into the light of day. But it is also a warning cry that tyranny and wickedness will not go unpunished.
“These violent delights have violent ends.” - William Shakespeare
