Considered one of the few second generation Zimbabwean musicians in the diaspora who still are still carrying the torch in keeping the true authentic Zimbabwean sungura sound alive and raising awareness of Zimbabwean musical and dance culture across the globe. Ogga Kattalog is a multi-talented recording artist who comes backed by an instrumental collective called the “Gentlemen’s Band and a dancing crew. When on stage, Ogga Kattalog is more than your average musician as his performances are infused with adroit footwork, rhythmic percussion and spectacular showmanship which leave a lasting impression. Linguistically, he has the ability to speak five languages namely (Shona, French, English,Lingali & Swahili) and incorporates all these languages into his music in a skillful manner. This does not only show his versatility but also broadens his landscape of his musical appeal among the masses worldwide. Ogga Kattalog and the Gentlemen’s Band have graced numerous United Kingdom music festival stages having the privilege of performing in front of thousands of fans from various cultures and backgrounds. He has also shared the stage with legendary Zimbabwean musicians such as Oliver Mtukudzi, the late Tongai Moyo, Alec Macheso, Sulumani Chimbetu and many others. Ogga Kattalog recently released a music video to his latest single “Usandisiye” which he helped produce and was directed by upcoming Zimbabwean United Kingdom based photographer turned filmmaker Marrie Jernie. The music video was positively received in both Zimbabwe and the diaspora clocking 2,000 views within 24hrs. Ogga Kattalog is currently working on new material for his forthcoming album. The album was due to be released last December but the album was pushed back by his management to a further date. At the moment Ogga Kattalog is considering a record deal offer and a touring offer from a Zimbabwean based record label and events promoter who for legal reasons will remain undisclosed.
