Psychedelic Mooj keeps things simple: old school groove, vintage tone, raw energy, and rock-solid rhythm.
Formed in Chandler, Arizona, in 2005, Psychedelic Mooj evolved from playing amped-up traditional blues to become one of Arizona’s preeminent psychedelic blues jam bands. Members Richard Chavez, Dave Hull, Rick Obenshain and Bill Tuli are evangelists of vintage tone and soul.
Heavily influenced by 70s rock legends such as Humble Pie, Wishbone Ash and Robin Trower, the band writes and performs original music that is heavily guitar dominated atop a rock solid drum and bass rhythm foundation. Guitar players R. Tuli and Chavez have refined their vintage tone over many years and it has become an essential part of their sound, killer psychedelic blues. Bassist Dave Hull and drummer Rick Obensain are about as solid as they come and combined together the band has few rivals when it comes to raw energy and talent.
