Something Old, Something New -- as we affectionately remember -- is the 2nd in our series of fully length vinyl recordings. Produced in 1973 by Randy Shelnut at Echo Sound Studios, Pensacola, FL, this album captures the development of The Rosetones as they mature into song crafters during the Southern Gospel era of the 1970s.
Robby and Danny pick up guitars and begin to add their young abilities to live concerts and church revival performances.
Linda Vaughn is maturing as a female vocalist and experiments with songwriting on track 9 "With Him In My Life".
Rose & Lonnie Myrick are penning songs as well with track 1 "When He Comes", inspired by Lonnie's study of Scripture regarding the end of this age and the Lord's return for His Bride. Rose is heavily influenced by top Gospel writers and composers such as Bill Gaither and Dottie Rambo and this is reflected on several of the tracks.
Lonnie Myrick, daddy of the group, is busy with networking and establishing new frontiers with promoters like the respected Mr. J.G. Whitfield of Dixie Echoes fame in the Northwest Florida and South Alabama market.
